Following a seven point performance in two games last week, Peterborough Petes forward Jax Dubois has been named the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week.
In the team’s home opener on Thursday against the Kingston Frontenacs, the 6-foot-4, 205 pound centre showcased his prowess by contributing one goal and two assists, helping the Petes secure a 5-4 victory.
Not content with just one standout performance, the overager continued to shine on Friday when he led the Petes to a 5-2 win over the Ottawa 67’s, further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier player, tallying one goal and three assists for a four point night.
He also demonstrated his versatility and tenacity on the ice by maintaining a 56 percent success rate in the faceoff circle.
Dubois now stands atop the OHL’s list of leading scorers as the league enters its second week of the season.
The Ottawa native has come a long way since being selected in the 14th round (273rd overall) by the Petes during the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, with an impressive 21 goals, 39 assists, and 60 points over the course of 119 OHL regular season games, cementing his reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the OHL
