A 38-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges following an incident that occurred on Saturday evening.
Around 9:00 pm, police responded to a call in the area of Charlotte and George Streets. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a couple had been in a verbal argument on the street when an unidentified male intervened while brandishing a knife, striking the male involved in the dispute in the face.
The suspect then fled the area but police were able to identify the him through CCTV camera footage.
He was arrested the next day around 4:30 pm when he was spotted by an officer on general patrol near Aylmer and Brock Streets.
The injured male was taken to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
