The official groundbreaking ceremony for a new six-storey, 53-unit affordable housing building at 681 Monaghan Rd. has been postponed. The delay is to align the groundbreaking event with an upcoming announcement, and a new date will be communicated once details are confirmed.
The construction of this much-anticipated affordable housing project is expected to be completed by mid-2024. The initiative is spearheaded by the City of Peterborough, with the property being owned by the City itself. The responsibility of managing the housing will be entrusted to the City’s social housing agency, Peterborough Housing Corporation.
For more information regarding this project, interested individuals can find details on the City’s online community engagement hub, Connect Peterborough, at connectptbo.ca/affordable-housing-project. Stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled groundbreaking ceremony as the project moves forward.
