The Kinsmen Minor Football League played its Week 2 schedule this past Saturday at Thomas A. Stewart S.S.
The 9 a.m. game saw the Sr. Tiger Cats defeating the RedBlacks 44-27. Liam McCartie, Gage Raby and Reid Nobes all found the endzone twice for the TiCats. Levi Paige scored two touchdowns for the RedBlacks, while Ashton McKinlay and Brody Munnings each scored a single touchdown.
The second game of the day had the Argonauts winning a close one 25-22 over the Roughriders. Landen Levesque led the scoring for the Argos with three touchdowns. Michael Porter, Ian Watt and Fox Theobold all scored touchdowns for the Roughriders.
After 2 weeks the Tiger Cats are leading the Sr Division.
In Junior action, the RedBlacks defeated the Tiger Cats 52-32. Lucas Harrington and AJ Galloway scored a pair of touchdowns each, while Easton Schenk, Joe Lachey, Harley Rock and Dillon King each added single score. Galloway also kicked for a convert.
The second game saw the Roughriders defeat the Argonauts 40-12. Caden Curtis led the scoring for the Riders with two touchdowns and five converted kicks.
After 2 weeks the RedBlacks are leading the Junior Division.
The KMFL will be recognizing the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation during their Week 3 game day this coming Saturday September 30th. All fans are asked to wear orange to the field. Chief Laurie Carr of Hiawatha First Nation will be opening the day with a ceremonial smudging.
