After reviewing the transfer of Canada’s most notorious killer, Paul Bernardo, Correctional Services Canada Commissioner Anne Kelly says he will stay in his new home, the medium-security prison, La Macaza in Quebec.
Kelly addressed the public outcry over the convicted child-killer and rapist’s move to the facility, saying that the transfer followed the letter of the law.
She emphasizes that Bernardo underwent a lengthy integration process with other inmates at Millhaven and his new prison, La Macaza in Quebec.
She also noted that he met the criteria to be moved 14 times since 1999, but was kept in maximum security because of his high-profile status.
