The Peterborough Lakers are on a three-game win streak after picking up a big home win over the first place Six Nations Chiefs last night.
The game was tied at two after the first period but the Lakers took control in the second, outscoring the Chiefs 6-2, taking an 8-4 lead into the final twenty minutes.
After an early goal from the Lakers in the opening minute of the third, Six Nations came on strong by scoring four unanswered goals down the stretch, however, they were unable to get the equalizer as Peterborough hung on for the 9-8 win.
Turner Evans had four goals and an assist while Senior B call ups Jason Knox and Carter Page each had a pair of goals.
Landon Kells picked up the win in net making 46 saves.
Colton Armstrong, playing in his first game as a Peterborough Laker since being acquired in a trade from the Cobourg Kodiaks, had a solid debut with the team, contributing well on the defensive side of things while showing his speed in transition.
Next action for the Lakers is Thursday when they host the Brampton Excelsiors, the team that spoiled their home opener on June 8th.
