Canadians across the country will come together on June 27th to commemorate Canadian Multiculturalism Day. In Peterborough, the New Canadians Centre has taken the initiative to organize the second Canadian Multicultural Festival, a week-long extravaganza of programs and events aimed at celebrating the diversity and cultural richness of the community.
The Festival, which has gained widespread acclaim, serves as a platform for residents to learn, share, and revel in the vibrant cultural landscape of Peterborough.
Andy Cragg, the Executive Director of the New Canadians Centre, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, highlighting the city’s thriving cultural atmosphere. “The cultural landscape in Peterborough is rich and lively. The Festival gives us a wonderful opportunity to bring people together to learn, to share, and to celebrate” said Cragg.
Running from June 23 to June 30, the Canadian Multicultural Festival will feature a series of captivating programs and events. These offerings aim to showcase the traditions, customs, art, music, and cuisine of the diverse communities residing in Peterborough. Attendees can look forward to an array of activities that foster cultural exchange, understanding, and dialogue.
