4th Line Theatre returns for its 31st summer season in late June, presenting the world premiere of The Tilco Strike at the Winslow farm property near Millbrook.
Written by D’Arcy Jenish, the play recounts a 1965-66 labour disruption at Peterborough-based Tilco Plastics and its far-reaching consequences. 4th Line Theatre managing artistic director Kim Blackwell says the production sheds light on “a little known piece of Peterborough history” deserving of our attention.
Blackwell says Jenish’s script is a perfect fit for 4th Line’s stage, noting the story speaks perfectly to the theatre’s mandate of shining on a spotlight on local history.
Blackwell notes while the 2022 season proved challenging post-pandemic, early indications are this summer will see audiences return in droves
The Tilco Strike opens with preview staging’s June 27th and 28th with the regular run starting June 29th, continuing until July 22nd.
