The second period proved to be the difference last night as the Peterborough Lakers lost a tough road game to the first place Six Nations Chiefs.
The teams were tied at two goals apiece after the first 20 minutes but the Chiefs managed to pull away in the second, outscoring the Lakers 4-2 in the middle frame, on route to an 8-5 win.
Thomas Hoggarth had a pair of goals in the loss with singles going to Turner Evans, Austin Hasen and Taite Cattoni. Holden Cattoni had three assists.
Next action for the Lakers is tomorrow night when they host the Cobourg Kodiaks.
Game time is 8pm at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
