We are well into Pride Month in Canada and events have being taking place in communities like ours right across the country.
Dr. Karen Blair is the Director of Trent Social Relations, Attitudes and Diversity Lab.
She says marking a month to highlight groups of people is fairly common now and still carries a lot of weight.
She adds that progress on civil rights matters is never linear.
Dr. Blair also says progress on civil rights matters is never linear; and each June we as a society can reflect on where we are doing things well and where improvements need to be made.
