The Peterborough Petes took the long road to victory once again last night, clawing their way back from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Kamloops Blazers 5-4 in overtime.
The Petes will now face the Seattle Thunderbirds tonight in the semifinal.
Head Coach Rob Wilson said he just kept telling his team that they’ll be fine as long as they don’t allow another goal.
Although it was a big win for Peterborough, Wilson said the post game celebration was brief.
In speaking with media after the game, goaltender Michael Simpson said it was a good character win for his team.
Peterborough native J.R. Avon scored the game winning goal for the Petes, just past the halfway mark of the overtime period.
You can listen to tonight’s semi final game against the Thunderbirds on Oldies 96.7, Freq 90.5 and Classic Rock 107.9, beginning with the Tailgate Show at 9:30 pm.
