The New Canadians Centre announced the launch of the Canadian Multicultural Festival, a month-long extravaganza celebrating the vibrant tapestry of cultures in Peterborough. This exciting event, taking place throughout June, will feature a series of programs and events designed to promote multiculturalism and foster unity among communities.
Kicking off the festival with a delectable bang is the eagerly anticipated Multicultural Food Crawl 2023, sponsored by the Peterborough Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA). Food enthusiasts and cultural explorers are invited to embark on a culinary adventure through downtown Peterborough, where they can indulge in a wide array of global flavors.
Participants in the Multicultural Food Crawl can enjoy a tantalizing journey across 10 renowned restaurants. With each $10 spent at any of these establishments between June 1 and 30, visitors will receive a stamp on their Multicultural Food Passport. By collecting six stamps, they become eligible to enter a draw for a chance to win one of three $100 Boro Gift Cards, which can be used at various downtown locations.
To kickstart their gastronomic voyage, foodies can obtain their Multicultural Food Passport at the New Canadians Centre or any of the participating restaurants. The passport serves as a guide to the diverse culinary landscape of downtown Peterborough, showcasing the following establishments:
- Bhojan
- Brothers Pizza
- Curry Mantra
- Dirty Burger
- La Hacienda
- La Mesita
- Levantine Grill
- Milk and Tea Shop
- Naka Japanese
- Poco Burro / Poco Gelato
In addition to the Food Crawl, the festival also features an event called “Flavours of the World Sampling Day.” On Saturday, June 24, between 12 pm and 7 pm (while supplies last), festival-goers can visit any of the ten participating Multicultural Food Crawl restaurants and savor complimentary food samples. This unique opportunity allows visitors to tantalize their taste buds with a variety of international delicacies while immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Peterborough.
