For the first time in 17 years, the Petes will play in the OHL Championship series.
Peterborough knocked off North Bay with a 3-2 win in Game 7 last night, setting up a date with London in the final.
J-R Avon scored the game winner, with Owen Beck and Brennan Othmann also finding the back of the net.
Petes forward Avery Hayes spoke post-game about how special this group is.
Head Coach Rob Wilson said the chemistry throughout the lineup allowed for the group to not be phased by some key injuries in the game including to captain Shawn Spearing.
Wilson added that even when the team sputtered a bit following some major trades earlier in the season, he never lost faith that they would find their groove.
The first two games of the series go on Thursday and Saturday in London, before shifting back to the Memorial Centre for Games 3 and 4 on Monday and Wednesday. You can listen to all the games on Freq 90.5.
