There were plenty of local celebrations to mark the coronation of King Charles III, including one held at the Salvation Army Citadel on Simcoe Street.
A number of dignitaries attended the service on Sunday which also featured a luncheon.
Organizer Jane Ann Thompson says watching the event overseas was a real cool site.
Thompson adds despite some people not liking the monarchy, Canada’s connection to them is still very strong.
The event was attended by more than 100 people. At council tonight, the Peterborough Singers will sing “God Save the King” at the beginning of the meeting.
