Fleming is offering Skilled Trades programs for free.
The College is giving unemployed or underemployed individuals a chance to experience what a career in the skilled trades has to offer with two new pre-apprentice programs.
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development are funding these programs to highlight the benefits the Plumbing and Carpentry have to offer to students looking to join the much-needed trades labour force.
The course provides 18 weeks of full-time, in-class training for their offered Plumbing and Carpentry courses. Both of these courses will include instructions for one another, and training in Electrical fields.
Students will also be given the chance to jump directly into the workforce after their schooling through paid work placements.
Tuition and needed equipment will be covered for students, classes begin June 12th.
More information about the programs can be found on the Fleming website.
