The Peterborough Petes are getting set to enter territory they haven’t been in since the 2017 playoffs; that’s the last time they played in an Eastern Conference Championship series.
Goaltender Michael Simpson says everyone in the Petes dressing room knows that you don’t get a lot of opportunities like this in junior hockey.
After winning two playoff rounds already, the Petes are halfway to their goal of winning an OHL championship. The netminder says being so close has his team really fired up to get things started tonight.
Having lost all four games to the Battalion during the regular season many are considering the Petes the underdogs; Simpson says that gives them extra motivation going into this series.
You can listen to tonight’s game on Freq 90.5 beginning with the Tailgate Show at 6:30pm.
