Two fundraisers this weekend aim to help a Peterborough business that is still feeling the effects of the pandemic lockdown and facing possible closure.
PJ’s Diner on Sherbrooke Street, owned and operated by Sheri Cunliffe and Adam Jackson, is struggling with rent and other costs as a result of income lost during the pandemic. Now friends and supporters of the eatery are rallying, organizing a breakfast fundraiser at the diner on April 29th, starting at 9 a.m., and another benefit at the Historic Red Dog on April 30th, featuring several hours of live music.
Wanda Prince is a key organizer of the Saturday event and is involved with the Sunday event as well. She dismisses any suggestion that such a benefit for a struggling business isn’t worthy of support.
Involved in both events is singer and musician Joslyn Burford.
Prince adds any support will go a long way towards helping the business and, as such, encourages people to drop by both events.
