The brooms were out in Sudbury last night as the Peterborough Petes swept the Wolves with a 4-2 win in game 4 of their first round playoff series.
JR Avon scored the game winning goal, about halfway through the second period, while Michael Simpson picked up the win in net, making 27 saves along the way.
After the game, Head Coach Rob Wilson gave kudos to his team for their effort in this series.
On top of the hard fought effort from his players, Wilson also praised his team for their discipline.
While Wilson was happy with his entire team’s performance, he recognized the efforts of his leadership group and the older veteran players as being a big difference against the Wolves.
With this series being the first one to wrap up in the OHL, the Petes will now have wait to see who their next round opponent is. If there are no first round upsets and the top three seeded team in the Eastern Conference advance, the Petes will face Ottawa in the second round.
