The Peterborough U16 AAA Petes turned a lot of heads this past week at the OHL Cup, making it all the way to Saturday’s semi final, before losing 4-2 in a hard fought game against the Vaughan Kings.
It was battle to get to the semis, with the Petes needing double overtime to advance to the final four game.
Kaiden Harmon scored that OT game winner to get them to that semi final game, his third OT goal in as many weeks, after scoring both the Eastern AAA Hockey League (ETA) sudden death overtime goal last month as well as the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) triple overtime title clincher the following week.
The Petes were the first Peterborough team since 2008 to qualify for the OHL Cup, a showcase that featured the top 20 U16 AAA teams from Ontario and the United States.
