A longtime female business owner and entrepreneur says that while equity progress has been made, there remains much more to be done.
Jeannine Taylor, founder and publisher of KawarthaNOW, says International Women’s Day presents not only the opportunity to reflect and celebrate but also acknowledge “there’s a huge amount of work to do” in terms of meaningful and lasting gender equality.
A member of the Women’s Business Network, Taylor says that organization has played, and continues to play, a huge role in recognizing and celebrating local’s women’s many achievements.
Taylor adds it’s important to reflect on why International Women’s Day exists.
