The number of local women launching and operating their own businesses has grown considerably, and that, says the manager of the Business Advisory Centre, is something to keep well in mind as International Women’s Day dawns anew.
Madeleine Hurrell, who works closely with aspiring and established female entrepreneurs as part of her job, notes there’s a long list of women in influential positions locally – something that wasn’t all too common not too long ago.
Hurrell notes that what has been key, and remains so, is young women having role models they can look up to.
Hurrells adds there’s a dual purpose to International Women’s Day.
