While it’s hard to think summer during the gloomy days of February, Millbrook’s 4th Line Theatre is doing what it can to turn our thoughts to warmer days ahead.
The Winslow Farm-based outdoor theatre company has opened its box office for its upcoming 31st summer season – a playbill that will see the word premiere of The Tilco Strike and the return of perennial favourite The Cavan Blazers. While tickets for members went on sale earlier, the public can now purchase tickets at the box office on Tupper Street in Millbrook or online at www.4thlinetheatre.on.ca/box-office.
Managing artistic director Kim Blackwell says the call for volunteers actors has seen the biggest response ever – a good thing with the number of performance roles to be filled.
Blackwell notes both 2023 productions, which were to be staged two years ago, have been on hold for a long time.
The Cavan Blazers was first staged in season one in 1992 and was re-staged during five subsequent seasons. Blackwell says it remains the company’s flagship production and for good reason.
The Tilco Strike runs June 27th to July 22nd followed, from August 1st to 23rd, by The Cavan Blazers. Full details on each be found at www.4thlinetheatre.on.ca/2023-season
