You better bundle up if you need to be outside over the next couple of days.
Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning, with wind chills expected to reach minus 35 to minus 40 tonight into Friday morning. After moderating during the day Friday, wind chills are again forecast to reach minus-35 to minus-40 Friday night into Saturday morning.
Additionally, brief, intense snowfall is expected to develop so a Snow Squall Watch is in effect.
Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
You’re advised to dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. Officials say frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
