A 27-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges as a result of a drug investigation which was initiated following a sudden overdose death in October 2022.
On Tuesday, January 24th, officers with Investigative Services and the Emergency Response Team searched a Peterborough home. During the search officers located a loaded handgun, drugs, and cash.
Jameel Jackson of Peterborough was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
Trafficking in schedule I substance – Fentanyl
Possession of schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, January 25, 2023.
Peterborough Police Service is releasing the name of the accused in this case as a matter of public safety.
