The final countdown is on for The Pizza Factory with the iconic Peterborough restaurant set to serve its last meal January 29th – close to 43 years after opening at Lansdowne Street West and The Parkway.
Owned and operated by Peter and Anna Bouzinelos, the restaurant has been swamped with customers all this month, many of them leaving notes of thanks and appreciation while recalling memories of special times. The couple, who themselves met at The Pizza Factory, has been overwhelmed by the response.
As a show of appreciation to the community, Peter and Anna are selling coffee mugs, toques and T-shirts featuring The Pizza Factory logo, as well as restaurant equipment, with all proceeds going to Kawartha Food Share.
Peter says he’s not sure what retirement will look like but vows both he and Anna are ready.
