Peterborough’s live music community and its supporters came together December 11th at the Historic Red Dog in an inspiring show of support for one its own.
The benefit, held for former longtime Red Dog sound technician and musician Frank Girard, saw more than $2,500 raised to augment the close to $5,000 raised via a GoFundMe campaign that remains active.
After the funeral of his brother, Girard suffered a heart attack. He has since undergone a quintuple bypass at Toronto General Hospital. Now back home recovering, he couldn’t attend the benefit but he was there in spirit as 12 acts took to the stage of the Hunter Street pub from 2 to 10 p.m. Among the featured performers were Rick Fines, Al Black and The Weber Brothers.
