The competition has ended and the results are in – we know who has the best mac and cheese.
The Peterborough Mac + Cheese Festival has crowned The El (P) and Capra Toro as this year’s Mac + Cheese Champion.
Throughout the month of October, 20 signature mac and cheese dishes were featured on local menus within the downtown restaurant scene for both dine-in and takeout as part of the month-long foodie competition.
Over 1000 votes were cast to determine the top dish on offer and according to the DBIA, two restaurants ended up winning.
Both El (P) and Capra Toro received a hand-crafted trophy, a sizable donation to Kawartha Food Share in the restaurants name and bragging rights.
Second favourite was a cheeky Spinach and Artichoke Mac + Cheese Dip made by Chef Jessie from Champs Sports Bar, followed by Black Horse Sweet Potato Mac in third place.
