A local business has stepped up big time to support cancer care at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Owner of Couture Candy, Lisa Couture, handed over a cheque for $16,700 recently.
The money came from the ‘Supporting Cancer Care is Sweet’ campaign. From mid June until October 3rd, Couture Candy PTBO donated a portion of the proceeds from over 10 of their most popular products to the campaign. They also collected donations, giving donors a chance to display their names and messages throughout the store, and held ice cream fundraisers throughout the summer thanks to support from Central Smith Creamery.
PRHC Foundation President & CEO, Lesley Heighway, says the donation will help save lives by supporting state-of-the-art cancer care equipment and technology.
