The family of a four-year-old girl struck by a vehicle and severely injured October 10th near the Norwood Fair is overwhelmed by the outpouring of community support.
Speaking from Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, Dan Foley says the more than $47,000 raised by a GoFundMe appeal has provided great comfort as his daughter Sophie fights for her life.
Foley is especially touched by an October 18th fundraiser being organized by Dooher’s Bakery in Campbellford.
Having suffered a fractured skull, a brain injury and a lacerated liver, Sophie remains in critical condition. While her family prays for her recovery, Foley can’t help but reflect on how a fun day at the fair turned tragic so suddenly.
Anyone who witnessed the accident or has dashcam footage is asked to call Peterborough County OPP at 705-742-0401 or 1-888-310-1122.
