With the deadline for those interested in being named Peterborough’s police chief having passed, the process of reviewing applications begins.
Back in April, Peterborough’s Police Services Board hired The Phelps Group, a Toronto-based executive recruitment firm, to begin the search for a permanent police chief. That came after former chief Scott Gilbert announced his retirement in February.
Police Services Board chair Mary ten Doeschate outlines next steps.
ten Doeschate adds that while the number of applications the board will review isn’t known at this time, there has been strong interest in the position.
While filling the chief position is a board priority, ten Doeschate says the process won’t be rushed.
