Most anyone who has experienced The Bowie Lives has come away thinking Peterborough native Michael Bell was put on this earth to pay musical tribute to the late glam rock singer.
Bell will channel the sound and many styles of Bowie when he brings his stage feast for the eyes and ears to Peterborough’s Market Hall Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, September 17th.
Fresh off his late July performance at Peterborough Musicfest, Bell says running through Bowie’s many musical periods is a key focus of his tribute, fulfilling Bowie fans’ hunger for whichever of his many sounds they’re into.
A musician and singer since his high school days at Adam Scott, Bell says he was in his early teens when he first discovered Bowie via the cover of his 1975 album Young Americans.
Bell adds that what made Bowie stand out for him both then and now, beyond his eleven number one albums and record sales of more than 100 million, was his willingness to walk the walk in so many different worlds.
Tickets to The Bowie Lives are available at www.markethall.org or phone 705-749-1146 to order.
