Former Peterborough MPP Jeff Leal has filed his nomination paperwork to run for Mayor according to the clerks office.
According to KawarthaNow.com, Leal is going to hold an official campaign launch next Thursday at the Lions’ Community Centre on Burnham Street in East City.
Prior to serving at Queen’s Park, the Peterborough-native sat on city council from 1985 to 2003 representing Otonabee Ward. He also was deputy mayor from 1993 to 2003.
Both Stephen Wright and Henry Clarke are also running for the top job.
