Whoever said young people can’t be successful entrepreneurs? It wasn’t Peterborough’s Noah Dalliday who, from the young age of 15, has been building his reputation — not to mention a solid business — in the world of e-commerce.
Dalliday is the owner of The Daller Store, an e-commerce site that sells mostly used high-end sneakers and clothing, along with vintage sports jerseys — mainly from the NBA and Major League Baseball — through its own website www.TheDallerStore.com, on Instagram at thedallerstore and on Facebook @thedallerstore.
He specializes in selling the Jordan and Yeezy (Kanye West’s partnership with Adidas) brand shoes, along with high-end clothing and jerseys. “Anything in the clothing field that I can get my hands on that I can make a profit on I guess you could say,” said Dalliday.
Dalliday describes how he started his business, watching and learning from someone older who was also re-selling sneakers and clothing using social media platforms. Dalliday started on a small scale with the re-selling of thrift items to eventually building a business model on the re-sale of more expensive clothing and sneakers.
“When I was in Grade 8 there was another guy who was few years older than me who was doing it in Peterborough. I would run into him a Talize. I used to go to Talize to find old NBA jerseys for myself and I would run into him every time I was there. I would see him post it on his Instagram account and on his website days later. I wasn’t old enough to have a job yet. I thought if this guy is doing it, why can’t I? Why can’t I find a way to make some money on the side? Basically I bought a pair of shoes at Talize when I was in Grade 8 for $15 and sold them on Kiijiji the next day for $35. I was like ‘damn, maybe I have something here’,” said Dalliday.
Is there a secret to his success? Hard work, belief in his business model and, mostly, taking risks, have added up to success for Dalliday.
