As Black History Month continues, one of Peterborough’s first ever black City Councillors is reminding everyone that it’s important to celebrate, even if you aren’t black.
That’s the message from Stephen Wright.
Wright says he’s happy with what he saw from the community locally after the George Floyd incident in 2020, and that the support and diversity he saw was inspiring.
Wright and Councillor Kemi Akapo were both elected in 2018, making them Peterborough’s first two black city councillors.
