Peterborough Public Health has reported another death due to COVID-19.
This now brings the region to 51 deaths since March 2020 when the pandemic was first detected locally.
Peterborough Regional Health Centre says there’s currently 20 inpatients at the hospital with COVID-19 as well as one active outbreak.
In total, there’s 249 active confirmed cases of COVID-19 locally, but public health says that should be considered an underestimate because of PCR testing eligibility.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Thomas Piggott will address the media this morning.
