As Northcrest Arena is officially demolished this week, one councillor from the city’s most northern ward is happy to see parts of it being used elsewhere.
Councillor Stephen Wright says aspects of it will be featured in the new fire hall that’s being built at that location.
Wright says Northcrest Arena was the only public gathering place for many residents in the north end for years.
The new fire station at the corner of Water and Marina was among the big-ticket items on the 2022 budget. The City of Peterborough will hold a public meeting on January 18th to provide a presentation on the design of the new Fire Station 2 facility and answer questions from the public.
