A local rideshare company is stepping up to help healthcare workers this holiday season.
While the city won’t be running buses on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve and New Years Day, Y Drive is offering free rides to essential workers.
Co-Owner Rob Davidson says while he gets why the city isn’t running buses those days, it’s still an oversight.
Davidson adds that rides for essential workers is just another way of saying thank you after they’ve worked tirelessly for the better part of two years.
Earlier in the pandemic, Y Drive also offered free food delivery to healthcare workers that were isolating in local hotels. Due to a limited pool of drivers working these 2 days, it’s encouraged to pre-book rides in the Y-Drive app, using promo code “THANKYOU”, which will be active from 5:00pm Christmas Eve to 10:00am Boxing Day, and then again 5:00pm New Years Eve until 8:00am January 2nd.
