It was another successful year for the Loonies on the Street fundraiser in support of Kawartha Food Share.
Throughout the morning, residents and business owners alike stopped by Peterborough Square to donate to the cause, with over $121,000 and counting donated in total. In previous years, that total has only grown after the fundraiser wrapped up.
Every month, Kawartha Food Share serves 9000 residents in Peterborough and surrounding area through working with partner agencies. With a 6-to-1 buying power ratio, $121,000 results in about $726,000 to spend on food.
We’ll have more updates as they become available.
Each year, the fundraiser is broadcast on Oldies 96.7 and FREQ 90.5.
