The SIU has cleared two Peterborough Police officers of any wrongdoing in connection to an arrest made at No Grills on George Street back in May.
During the interaction, the two officers forced the man to the ground and arrested him after he allegedly committed theft and threatened staff.
Paramedics took the man to hospital where he was treated for a head laceration.
The report states while the man’s injury occurred during the takedown, neither officer used excessive force during the arrest, therefore there was no basis for criminal charges.
