Throughout the week, we’ve highlighted the four local candidates in the upcoming September 20th federal election.
Today, we’re highlighting NDP candidate Joy Lachica, who feels she’s the right person to lead in Peterborough-Kawartha because of her experiences.
Lachica says there has to be more of a connection between the federal and provincial governments to make sure provinces are being held accountable.
In the 2019 election, the NDP finished fourth when it comes to the number of seats in the House of Commons behind the Liberals, Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois. When it comes to federal leaders, she adds that Jagmeet Singh has always been proactive in looking out for Canadians’ best interests.
Tomorrow we’ll highlight Conservative candidate Michelle Ferreri.
