Despite only being in Peterborough for less than a year, Emily Jones has already been an influential figure for women in the community.
Jones started as the Community Development and Engagement Coordinator for Peterborough Police in August 2020, a role that had previously been held by the universally-loved Peter Williams. She had big shoes to fill, and did it well.
Jones previously worked in the harm reduction field in Whitehorse, Yukon before coming to Peterborough, a short drive from her hometown of Cobourg. She believes more women should be working in public-facing positions where there’s pressure and scrutiny, because there is lots of opportunity to be influential in those positions.
