Peterborough is going to be moved into the red-zone of the province’s COVID-19 colour-coded reopening framework.
The decision was made earlier today by the province in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
All changes are effective Monday at 12:01 a.m.
Restrictions for the red zone mean any organized public events and social gatherings will be limited to five people indoors and 25 outdoors. Additionally, indoor dining establishments, gaming establishments, gyms and fitness centres will be held to a maximum of 10 customers at a time, while movie theatres will be closed. Any personal care services that require the removal of a face mask will be closed as well.
On the retail side, this means that supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores and grocery stores will have to operate at 75% capacity, while other retailers will be at 50%. All retailers much post their capacity limit outside of the entrance as well under the red-zone guidelines.
