The President of the Peterborough Ag Society has been recognized by Canadian Western Agribition.
Viren D’Souza was named one of Canada’s Top 50 in Agriculture.
D’Souza says this is a tremendous honour.
In addition to his role with the Ag Society, D’Souza has served with Peterborough County Cattlemen Association and was a volunteer at the Otonabee South Monaghan food cupboard. He says the landscape of agriculture is quickly changing.
D’Souza says for anyone interested in getting involved in farming, there are a lot more opportunities than most people think. After starting his own business installing and servicing dairy automation, he was the first to bring a baler-compactor to Canada.
