Fleming College Professor Erin McGauley has been educating others since being a swimming instructor when she was younger.
As a Professor of Environmental Technology, McGauley is now teacher her students about the environment and how it needs to be sustained for the future of the planet.
Typically, each school year starts with a field trip for McGauley’s students, but in 2020 that wasn’t possible because of restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic. McGauley got creative, and made a virtual field trip for her students that let them interact with different wetlands near Lake Ontario.
She believes teaching about the environment is something that’s necessary in today’s world, as climate change becomes more and more of a growing issue.
