From being a student at Crestwood Secondary School to being a teacher there, Wendy Jones has seen her education career come full circle.
Jones says she had lots of role models when she was younger, many of which led her to wanting to be a teacher one day. Her father was a principal at her school, and she’s modelled her career after one of her old gym teachers, Tracy Hanna, who she later worked with.
Jones says she’s had many students that she’s stayed close with over the years, which includes going for runs with students who have continued their fitness journeys. She feels the connection between a physical education teacher and their students is unique from other teachers for this reason.
