With many hospitals being stretched thin due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the PRHC has given a status update.
Dr. Peter McLaughlin spoke at General Committee last night. He says staff at the hospital have been greatly taxed, but continue to supply tremendous care to those in need.
McLaughlin did confirm the PRHC has received two patients from Scarborough, but he doesn’t believe it was COVID-related. He also said as vaccine rollouts happen locally, the hospital is ready to assist in any way they can.
Vice-president and chief of staff at the PRHC, Dr. Lynn Mikula, will be holding a media briefing later this morning.
