Peterborough Police says rental scams are circulating the area recently, and are reminding residents to be diligent.
Financial Crimes Detective Constable Alison Dyer says there’s some red flags when you see an apartment posted online.
Dyer says sometimes the scammer will ask for multiple months of rent before you’ve even see the unit.
She adds that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
