The Peterborough Petes are collecting socks this winter for the less fortunate locally as part of their ‘Sock It To COVID’ fundraiser.
General Manager Mike Oke says this is instead of their annual Teddy Bear toss, which would’ve been earlier this month.
The socks will be going towards the YES Shelter, YWCA and Kawartha Food Share. Oke says they’re one of those things that everyone needs, but nobody ever thinks about.
He adds it’s always important to support local charities, but during the holidays spreading the love is more important than ever.
You can donate at the Petes Store at the PMC, the Petes pop-up store at Lansdowne Place and Hybrid Fitness on Rye Street.
