Navigating a leadership race through the COVID-19 pandemic has presented challenges but that’s exactly what the Conservative Party of Canada has done.
According to a new poll by Maru/Blue, Peter MacKay holds 55% party support to replace Andrew Scheer. We caught up with MacKay, who says after stepping away from politics in 2015 he’s ready to come back and serve Canadians.
MacKay adds that he learned some lessons during his years as an MP that he feels will serve him well.
Rounding out the field of party competitors – Erin O’Toole at 23%, while Leslyn Lewis and Derek Sloan each have 11%.
