Growing up with a well-known father can be intimidating and comes with a lot of pressure – but that’s something Vanessa Oake Hogan has never shied away from.
Vanessa took over Century 21 United in 2016 from her father, Carl Oake, and is doing her best to preserve the amazing culture he created and to keep it as an industry leader in the community.
She believes real estate is an exciting career for many reasons, including the fact you get to run your own business essentially and you control your own success.
Her father’s legacy isn’t just confined to real estate but also charitable endeavours. Vanessa helped take over and promote the Carl Oake Rotary Swimathon, bringing in money for worthwhile causes such as 5 Counties Children’s Foundation, The Peterborough Regional Health Centre, the New YMCA, the YWCA Women’s Crossroads Shelter, The Rotary Greenway Trail and Easter Seals.
Vanessa has one piece of advice for young women wanting to get involved in real estate and that is ‘just go for it!’
